As part of Decorex Africa’s month-long Cape Town Design Trail in June 2021, AVNA Architects together with other local designers launched the newly revamped Airstream trailers at the Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel.The Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel is home to the only designer Rooftop Airstream Trailer Park in the world!

VIP guests from the industry and local designers, who sponsored décor items used in the trailer, were invited to the launch where they had an opportunity to tour the trailer suites that have been conceptualised and designed by local artists to emphasise an iconic road trip across South Africa.
Dane, from the Hotel, was extremely impressed by the final results of their newly revamped “Cape Winelands” themed trailer designed by AVNA Architects. AVNA Architects created a welcoming space where guests can relax and appreciate the creativity and craftsmanship of South African designers and experience the beauty of the Cape Winelands
The curation of décor items throughout the trailer is inspired by the rich colour palette of the region’s fynbos, sandstone and vineyards.
The challenge in the project was the curves in the trailer; however the team was able to overcome this by installing a wallpaper with a vine leaf design. This evokes the sense of walking through a vineyard.
The soft timber look expresses the look of wine vaults while the green accent colour on the wallpaper and décor items expresses the vine leaves and the fruit of the vine.
